North Toronto Basketball REP Program COVID-19 Suspension of Activities

Monday, October 5, 2020

To: The Greater NTBA Community

After thoughtful deliberation, the North Toronto Basketball Association (“NTBA”) Board of Directors has decided that effective immediately, all sanctioned NTBA REP activities are paused – including but not limited to, team practices at Hoopdome, until at least through to Monday, November 2, 2020.

The Board’s decision was made taking into consideration a variety of factors and voices, including the rapid rise in the COVID-19 rate of infection in the City of Toronto, the recent statements from Dr. David Williams, Chief Medical Office at the Ministry of Health and Toronto’s Medical Officer of Health, Eileen de Villa, both calling for enhanced public health measures and /or restrictions on indoor sports and activities, and our continuous effort to promote the health and safety of our players and coaches.

The Board would like to make it clear that we continue to monitor the City and Province’s health situation, and the guidance and recommendations that come from our health professionals, elected officials and the OBA.
